Quebec and PEQ and family sponsorship

Quebec now uses strict intake dates for both PEQ and family sponsorship

What changed PEQ is formally reopened from July 2, 2026 to July 2, 2028, but the current application-reception period runs only until October 31, 2026.

For the current intake: Quebec graduates must have obtained the qualifying credential by November 19, 2025; and temporary foreign workers must have accumulated the required TEER 0–3 Quebec work experience by November 19, 2025. There is no numerical cap for the current PEQ intake period. For Quebec family undertakings, the next intake tranche begins September 1, 2026 for sponsors whose IRCC eligibility letter—or qualifying inland-spousal AOR—is dated no later than January 31, 2025. Applications mailed before the permitted date are inadmissible and returned.

Why it matters A program being open for two years does not mean applications can be submitted continuously for two years. Similarly, receipt of a federal sponsorship AOR does not necessarily authorize immediate filing with MIFI. Practical implications

For PEQ, verify the historical November 19, 2025 eligibility date, not merely current employment or graduation. For sponsorships, use the issue date and document type specified by MIFI. Prepare the package early, but do not mail it before the permitted intake date. Quebec requires mail submission and generally requires one application per envelope.
